Factorising the Difference of Two Squares
Learners will be able to:
• Identify when a difference of two squares has a common factor that can be taken out. • Factorize the difference of two squares by taking out a common factor and then applying the formula (a+b)(a-b). • Recognize that not all differences of two squares can be further factorized if there is a plus sign between the terms. • Apply the process of factorizing a double difference of two squares, where one bracket can be factorized further than the other.
