Equations and Inequalities Lesson Solving Simultaneous Equations

Learners will be able to:

• Identify two simultaneous equations that share the same values for x and y. • Sketch graphs of two linear equations on the same set of axes. • Equate the expressions for y in two simultaneous equations. • Solve a simple equation resulting from equating the expressions for y. • Substitute a value of x into one of the original equations to find the corresponding value of y.
