Finding Unknown Angle From Given Ratio

Learners will be able to:

• Identify the inverse trigonometric operations on their calculator and explain how they are used to find the value of an angle from a given ratio. • Use the shift key in conjunction with the sine, cosine, or tangent button to input values into their calculator and calculate the arc sine, arc cosine, or arc tangent of a given number. • Solve equations involving trigonometric ratios by taking the inverse of the ratio on both sides of the equation. • Manipulate equations to isolate the trigonometric ratio before solving for the angle. • Calculate the value of an angle in degrees rounded to one decimal place using the inverse trigonometric operations on their calculator. • Apply knowledge of inverse trigonometric operations to solve problems involving right-angled triangles.
