Using a Calculator to Find Trig Ratios

Learners will be able to:

• Identify the trigonometric ratio for sine as opposite over hypotenuse. • Use a calculator in degree mode to find the value of sine 40 degrees. • Press the correct keys on their calculator to input and calculate the sine of an angle. • Interpret the result obtained from the calculator, including its decimal representation (0.643). • Apply the concept that the value of a trig ratio is independent of the size of the triangle.
