Learners will be able to:

• Describe the situation as a right-angle triangle. • Identify the trigonometric ratio to use when given an angle and the hypotenuse (sine). • Calculate the height of the airplane above the ground using the sine ratio. • Apply the cosine ratio to determine the horizontal distance from Umlanga to Durban International Airport. • Interpret the results, rounding to three decimal places.
