Conjectures in a Rhombus

Learners will be able to:

• Describe the properties of a rhombus that are used to prove the congruence of triangles AEB and CEB. • Prove that the area of triangle ABE is equal to the area of triangle BEC using the formula for the area of a triangle. • Apply the property that the diagonals of a rhombus bisect each other to find equal lengths in triangles AEB and CEB. • Use the properties of a rhombus to prove that triangle AEB is congruent to triangle CEB. • Explain why the areas of triangles ABE and BEC are equal using both methods: area formula and congruence.
