Episode 6 — Trigonometric Functions
Plotting the Sine Curve using a Calculator
Learners will be able to:
• Identify the correct mode on their calculator for plotting trigonometric functions. • Set up a table on their calculator using the table mode and enter the equation y = sin(x). • Determine the starting and ending values of x for plotting the sine curve from negative 360 to positive 360 degrees. • Calculate the x-values in increments of 90 degrees for plotting the sine curve. • Plot at least 8 points on the Cartesian plane, including key points such as (0, 0) and (180, 0). • Sketch a smooth curve through the plotted points to represent the graph of y = sin(x).
