Measures of Central Tendency for Ungrouped Data
Learners will be able to:
• Calculate the mean of a set of ungrouped data by adding all values and dividing by the number of data points. • Identify extreme values that can influence the mean of a dataset. • Determine the median of an odd-numbered set of data points, using the formula n + 1 divided by 2 to find the middlemost value. • Calculate the median of an even-numbered set of data points as the average of the two middle numbers. • Identify the mode(s) of a set of data points by calculating frequencies and determining the most frequently occurring value(s).
