Volume and Surface Area of 3D Shapes

Learners will be able to:

• Define volume as the measure of the amount of liquid or air that a 3D shape can hold. • Identify and describe the properties of a cube, including its faces and side lengths. • Explain how to measure capacity in liters or milliliters and convert between milliliters and cubic centimeters. • Describe the surface area of a 3D shape as the exterior surface area that could be painted or covered with paper. • Identify and describe the properties of a rectangular prism, including its faces and angles.
