Episode 7 — Measurement
Application of Volume of 3D Shapes
Learners will be able to:
• Calculate the volume of a rectangular prism by multiplying its length, width, and height. • Convert cubic centimeters to liters using the conversion factor 1,000 cm³ = 1 L. • Determine the surface area of a rectangular solid with an open top by calculating the areas of five rectangular faces. • Apply the formula for the area of a triangle (½ × base × perpendicular height) and use the theorem of Pythagoras to find the height. • Calculate the total surface area of a triangular prism, including two triangles and two rectangles.
