Episode 7 — Probability

Relative Frequency

Learners will be able to:

• Define relative frequency as the number of times an event occurs during repetitions of an experiment, divided by the total number of repetitions. • Calculate the formula for relative frequency (F = P ÷ T). • Explain the difference between relative frequency and theoretical probability. • Identify the factors that affect the consistency of relative frequency in repeated experiments. • Describe how relative frequency approaches theoretical probability with increased repetition of an experiment.
