Learners will be able to:

- Identify the characteristics of compound interest and how it differs from simple interest. - Calculate the amount of money in a savings account after a specified number of years using compound interest. - Determine the annual interest rate on an investment by dividing the interest earned by the principal amount. - Explain why a graph showing compound interest will be curved, rather than straight. - Plot points on a graph to represent the balance in a savings account at the end of each year.
