Perimeters and Areas

Learners will be able to:

- Calculate the perimeter of a rectangle using the formula 2(length + breadth). - Determine the area of a rectangle by multiplying its length and breadth. - Identify that an answer in cm is actually cm squared when it has a power of two (e.g. cm², cm³). - Apply the formula for the circumference of a circle to find the perimeter of a semicircle. - Calculate the radius of a circle from its diameter by dividing by 2. - Determine the area of a semicircle using the formula πr²/2. - Find the perimeter of an entire shape that includes a semicircle and straight lines. - Apply knowledge to solve real-world problems, such as finding the cost of fencing for a pool.
