Learners will be able to:
- Calculate the volume of a rectangular block using the formula length times breadth times height. - Determine the area of the base of a cylinder and calculate its volume by multiplying the area by the height, ensuring that units are consistent. - Write a number in figures when it is expressed with words (e.g. million cubic meters). - Calculate the volume of an Olympic size swimming pool using the formula length times breadth times depth. - Determine how many Olympic size swimming pools could be filled using the water from a given dam by dividing the volume of the dam by the volume of one pool. - Calculate the volume of a cylinder (geyser) using the formula pi times radius squared times height, rounding to four decimal places.
