Defining Trig Ratios on the CartesianPlane

Learners will be able to:

• Define trigonometric ratios on the Cartesian plane using right-angled triangles. • Identify the relationships between x, y, and R in terms of trigonometric ratios (sin(theta), cos(theta), tan(theta)). • Rewrite trigonometric ratios in terms of x, y, and R. • Apply the soh-cah-toa rule to identify opposite, adjacent, and hypotenuse sides in a right-angled triangle on the Cartesian plane. • Interpret the definitions of sin(theta), cos(theta), and tan(theta) using the Cartesian plane.
