Trigonometric Identities

Learners will be able to:

• Identify the trigonometric identities that are equations that are always true. • Explain how trigonometric identities allow us to simplify expressions and solve equations. • Prove a given identity using the quotient identity or square identity. • Simplify an expression by changing all trigonometric ratios to sine and cosine if possible. • Use the square identity to rewrite an equation in terms of sine squared theta and cosine squared theta.
