Learners will be able to:

• Sketch the graph of g(x) = 4 / x - 2 + 2, identifying its asymptotes and quadrants. • Determine the horizontal and vertical asymptotes of a hyperbolic function in the form y = a / (x - p) + q. • Find the x-intercept of a hyperbola by making y equal to 0 in the original equation and eliminating the fraction. • Find the y-intercept of a hyperbola by making x equal to 0 in the original equation. • Use symmetry to locate points on a hyperbola, including identifying corresponding parts of the graph.
