Differentiation using Rules

Learners will be able to:

• Identify the notation for derivatives (dy/dx, d/dx of f(x), etc.). • Apply the Power Rule to find the derivative of a variable raised to a power. • Explain that the derivative of a constant is zero. • Use the Sum and Difference Rules to differentiate the sum or difference of two functions. • Rewrite expressions involving fractions or radicals in a form suitable for differentiation.
