Episode 9 — Probability

Contingency Tables

Learners will be able to:

• Identify the total number of people who participated in a survey from a contingency table. • Calculate the probability that if we randomly select one of the people surveyed, it will be a male, as a percentage correct to one decimal place. • Calculate the probability that if we randomly select one of the people surveyed, that person likes chocolate, as a percentage correct to one decimal place. • Determine whether two events are independent by comparing the product of their individual probabilities with the joint probability. • Interpret the results of contingency table analysis in terms of categorical data relationships.
