Measures of Central Tendency

Learners will be able to:

• Identify the three types of averages: mode, mean, and median. • Calculate the mean value by adding up all data values and dividing by the number of datum. • Describe how to find the median when there is an odd number of datum. • Apply the formula to calculate the median when there are two middle numbers (e.g. add the two numbers together and divide by 2). • Identify the median as the value in the middle of a set of data, arranged from smallest to largest.
