Correlation
Learners will be able to:
• Calculate the equation of the least squares regression line using a calculator. • Determine the correlation coefficient from a calculator and interpret its value in terms of the strength and direction of the relationship between two variables. • Use the least squares regression line to make predictions about test scores for learners who attended different numbers of Saturday classes. • Identify the limitations of correlation, including the fact that it does not imply causation. • Explain why correlation does not necessarily mean that one variable causes another.
