Learners will be able to:

• Identify the five assumptions of kinetic theory. • Explain how the collisions between gas particles are completely elastic and do not change the total kinetic energy of the molecules. • Describe how the average kinetic energy of the molecules is directly proportional to the absolute Kelvin temperature of the gas. • Calculate the Kelvin temperature from a given Celsius temperature by adding 273. • Interpret the Maxwell-Boltzmann curve in relation to the speed and distribution of molecular velocities at different temperatures.
