Titrations
Learners will be able to:
• Describe the concept of a standard solution and its importance in titration. • Identify the equivalence point in a titration reaction and explain why it is essential to determine this point accurately. • Explain how to choose an indicator for a titration, including selecting one that changes color at or near the pH of the equivalence point. • Calculate the volume of sodium hydroxide solution used during a titration by reading the meniscus level in the burette and recording it accurately. • Determine the end point of a titration using a phenolphthalein indicator and calculate the average volume of sodium hydroxide added to oxalic acid.
