Episode 8 — Electricity and Magnetism - Electric Circuits
Electrical Circuits Internal Resistance Examples
Learners will be able to:
• Define emf in terms of total energy supplied per coulombs of charge. • Calculate the total resistance of a circuit by finding the parallel resistance and adding it to the series resistances. • Apply Ohm's Law to calculate the current flowing through a battery given its emf and total resistance. • Determine the potential difference across a resistor in a parallel circuit using the total current and resistance. • Use Ohm's Law to calculate the current in a specific resistor in a circuit. • Analyze the effect of changes to a circuit on the main branch current, identifying whether it will increase, decrease, or remain the same.
