Episode 3 — Electricity and Magnetism - Electrodynamics
Electromagnetic Induction and Faraday's Law
Learners will be able to:
• Describe the process of electromagnetic induction and its application in producing an EMF or voltage by changing a magnetic field. • Explain Faraday's law of electromagnetic induction and its mathematical representation, including the relationship between induced EMF, number of turns, change in flux linkage, and time taken to change the field. • Identify the factors that affect the magnitude of the induced EMF, including the rate of change of magnetic flux linkage, number of turns, and strength of the magnet. • Calculate the induced EMF using Faraday's law, given the change in flux linkage over a specified time period. • Interpret graphs showing the relationship between induced EMF and time, including sine curves representing the change in magnetic flux through a coil.
