Wave Calculations

Learners will be able to:

• Identify the relationship between frequency and period of a wave. • Calculate the period of a wave given its frequency using the equation f = 1/t. • Determine the velocity of a wave from its change in position and time using the equation v = Δx / Δt. • Convert displacement from centimetres to metres for calculations involving wave speed. • Solve for the frequency of a wave using the wave equation, given its wavelength and velocity.
