Learners will be able to:

• Identify common acidic substances in everyday life (e.g. fizzy drinks, citrus fruits, vinegar, yogurt) and name some common acids (e.g. citric acid, ascorbic acid, acetic acid, lactic acid) • Identify strong, dangerous acids (e.g. hydrochloric acid, sulfuric acid, nitric acid) and explain why they must never be tasted or touched
