• Explain what is meant by the physical properties (characteristics) of a material, and identify descriptive words (adjectives) such as strong, durable, malleable and shiny • Identify the properties of everyday materials (e.g. metal, plastic, glass, aluminium, paper) and explain why each material's properties make it suitable for its particular use
