Boiling Point

Learners will be able to:

• Distinguish between heat (a form of energy) and temperature (a measure of hot or cold) • Define boiling point as the temperature at which a liquid rapidly changes to a gas, and state that water boils at 100°C • Relate the boiling points of different materials (ceramic, metal, plastic) to their suitability for holding boiling water
