Investigating Boiling Point

Learners will be able to:

• Measure the temperature of water as it heats up to boiling point, using appropriate safety precautions and equipment • Draw an accurate line graph of temperature against time, and use it to identify the boiling point • Compare the boiling points of different substances (water, sugar solution, sunflower oil, glycerine) using a multiple line graph, and explain the results
