Conductivity
Learners will be able to:
• Explain what is meant by heat conductivity and electrical conductivity as physical properties of materials • Distinguish between conductors and insulators, and classify everyday materials (metal, wood, rubber, water, fabric) as good or poor conductors of heat and/or electricity • Explain why particular materials (e.g. copper wire with a plastic/rubber coating) are chosen for their conducting or insulating properties
