Learners will be able to:

• Explain chromatography as a method for separating pigments in a mixture such as ink or dye, and identify the solute and solvent • Carry out a simple chromatography investigation (forming a hypothesis, testing it, and recording results) and explain applications of chromatography (e.g. testing food, blood or leaf pigments)
