• Define the national electricity grid as a network system that generates and distributes electricity to consumers across the country • Describe the sequence of stages in the national electricity grid: generation, transmission, distribution and consumption • Identify the parts of the national electricity grid diagram (power station, transmission lines, substations, consumers) • Compare the parts of a simple electrical circuit (cell, wires, resistor, switch) with the corresponding parts of the national electricity grid • Explain what load shedding means in relation to the national electricity grid
